A picturesque moderate hike through Parque La Periquera. Follow Río La Cebada as it winds its way through its bromelia enveloped canyon, creating spectacular waterfalls as it goes. The area is also characterised by oak forests and gaques, an Andean shrub in the Clusia genus. Enjoy spectacular landscapes with views towards Iguaque and the Saquenzipa valley.

Itinerary: You will be met at your property in the town of Villa de Leyva. The transfer to La Periquera takes approximately 40 minutes. The hike takes 2 hours across undulating terrain with a maximum elevation gain of 250m. Afterwards you will be returned to your start point.

Remote hotels
Some of our tours do not require transport, some tours have different prices depending on where you book them from.
Hotels sometimes seek to capitalise on their proximity to certain locations by claiming to be in towns and cities when they are not within walking distance. For example, a hotel claiming to be in Salento could be on the Autopista del Café.
Please check a map before booking. If you book a walking tour from a location that requires transport your tour will fail our validation checks. Likewise if you book a tour from one area but your hotel is in a different area.
