Details
Itinerary: You will be picked up from your defined pick up location by your driver and guide. The day tour includes El Poblado, Plaza Bolívar, Plaza Botero, street art in San Javier, the colourful streetscapes and outdoor escalators of Comuna 13, and an introduction to the city’s Metro and MetroCable systems. Afterwards you will be taken back to your start point.
Duration: This tour lasts approximately 8 hours.
Start time: All listed options are feasible.
Guide: An English speaking guide is included. Drivers will be Spanish speaking.
Meals: Includes a traditional Antioqueño lunch and bottled water.
Transport: Included.
Entrances: This tour includes entrances where applicable.

Our website manages a database of over 4000 hotels in Colombia. Names and addresses have been cleaned, corrected and recorded in a consistent manner. Pick up location is an autocomplete field so entering the first few letters of your hotel name will provide the full name and correct address if it is in our database. This is the easiest way to ensure you have the correct address.
Inclusion in our database does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement. It only means that we were able to establish the correct name and address for the property. Hotels are city specific, you will only be shown possible pick up locations that relate to the tour that you are booking.
Our website will allow you to enter any address into the pick up location field but please bear in mind that if you are staying in a hotel and it does not automatically complete the name, this is probably because we were unable to determine the correct address and you might also have the incorrect address.
Remote hotels
Some of our tours do not require transport, some tours have different prices depending on where you book them from.
Hotels sometimes seek to capitalise on their proximity to certain locations by claiming to be in towns and cities when they are not within walking distance. For example, a hotel claiming to be in Salento could be on the Autopista del Café.
Please check a map before booking. If you book a walking tour from a location that requires transport your tour will fail our validation checks. Likewise if you book a tour from one area but your hotel is in a different area.

AirBnB almost always stores Colombian addresses incorrectly. Please check the correct address with your host before making a booking on our site.
Other private residences

Some tours will allow you to select a local airport as the pick-up location and these tours have been configured with inbound and outbound flights. Simply select your flights from the list. Choosing “None” will allow you to enter the details of a hotel in the same city.

We booked a range of tours with The Colombian Way over the course of 2 weeks. We contacted Mark and he arranged everything from transfers from the airport to daily tours in each location, a private driver and also some flights. He was very fast in communication and was always available to help out whenever we needed it which was brilliant as the Government were changing what was open at a moments notice. He was also extremely competitive on price being 30% cheaper than another tour operator.
With regard to the Medellin tour, we had a really fun time. The Colombian Way tour guide arrived on time and his driver took us, first of all, to the Gondola for a great view over the City. We went right to the top and then back down again, enjoying the views and the guide’s information on the City. His English was excellent.
We then went into notorious Area 13, which is now safe and has superb graffiti murals as well as outside escalators… yes, you read that right. We stopped at a graffiti art shop and had a coffee as well as a street snack further along as well.
After Area 13 we went to the river to see the amazing Christmas light murals. Even during the day they are well worth a lock. Whales, Tortoise, Birds, scenes from each area like the Jeep and Wax Palms of Cocora valley. Really impressive and we can see why they attract thousands of people each year.
Headed to the main square next for the Botero statues. Fantastic. You can’t help raise a smile for the voluminous style of the art. Stand next to the cat and try not to imitate it by resisting the urge to poke out your tongue… nah, it’s not possible. Awesome sculptures…
Then a nice amble through the streets soaking up the city vibe before a quick pick me up at historic Salon Malaga followed by a stroll to see the 2 famous Botero birds before being taken back to our hotel.
The tour guide was very interesting and was very flexible in giving us options and taking us to what we selected from these options. A great tour. Highly recommended!
