Both options on this page are private guided tours. The 3 hour option is a walking tour available only from the historic centre of Santa Marta. The 4 hour option includes transport and is available from properties elsewhere in Santa Marta such as Rodadero.
Details
Itinerary:
3 hour tour: You will be met at your property in the historic centre at your chosen start time. You will be guided by a local guide through the streets of Colombia’s oldest city. Your tour includes highlights such as Plaza Bolívar, the city’s cathedral, the oldest church in Colombia, Parque Santander and La Capilla San Juan de Dios.
4 hour tour: The tour includes transport and also visits the centre, however it adds La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino. The historic 17th century house that was the final resting place of Simón Bolívar, the Colombian national hero that liberated Gran Colombia from the Spanish crown. It also visits the Gold Museum with its artefacts from the ancient communities of the Sierra Nevada,
Afterwards you will be taken back to your start point.
Duration: This tour lasts 3 or 4 hours depending the chosen option.
Start time: All listed options are feasible.
Guide: Both options include and English speaking local guide. Drivers where included will be Spanish speaking.
Meals: Not included.
Transport: Included with the 4 hour tour.
Entrances: The tours include all applicable entrances.

Choose either the 3 hour tour or the 4 hour tour. The 3 hour tour is only available from properties within Santa Marta‘s historic centre.
Exceptions

Inclusion in our database does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement. It only means that we were able to establish the correct name and address for the property. Hotels are city specific, you will only be shown possible pick up locations that relate to the tour that you are booking.
Our website will allow you to enter any address into the pick up location field but please bear in mind that if you are staying in a hotel and it does not automatically complete the name, this is probably because we were unable to determine the correct address and you might also have the incorrect address.
Remote hotels
Some of our tours do not require transport, some tours have different prices depending on where you book them from.
Hotels sometimes seek to capitalise on their proximity to certain locations by claiming to be in towns and cities when they are not within walking distance. For example, a hotel claiming to be in Salento could be on the Autopista del Café.
Please check a map before booking. If you book a walking tour from a location that requires transport your tour will fail our validation checks. Likewise if you book a tour from one area but your hotel is in a different area.

AirBnB
AirBnB almost always stores Colombian addresses incorrectly. Please check the correct address with your host before making a booking on our site.
Other private residences
Our website will allow you to enter any private address. Please bear in mind that we require the full street address, the building name if applicable and any unit or apartment number.
Airports
Some tours will allow you to select a local airport as the pick-up location and these tours have been configured with inbound and outbound flights. Simply select your flights from the list. Choosing “None” will allow you to enter the details of a hotel in the same city.
