Currencies

The Colombian Way employs multi-currency invoicing where possible. This allows clients to book their tour in a currency in which they are familiar and avoid bank foreign currency transaction fees.

You may have told us where you are from, if not and you wish to be billed in a specific currency then please let us know.

Our default currency is Euros.

Reference currencies

The Colombian Way will work out your tour plan initially in a reference currency. Our reference currencies are US Dollars and Euros. We use these currencies to allow us to benchmark against similar tours, to highlight any obvious errors in the cost calculation, and to ensure your trip is competitively priced.

Your tour plan may well be issued in a reference currency with the conversion taking place at the time of invoicing. Alternatively we may choose to convert the entire tour plan when we send you a proposal.

For clients in the United Kingdom. Until further notice The Colombian Way will only convert reference currencies to British Pounds at the time of invoicing.

Converting currencies

If you have received a tour plan or quotation for a day trip in a reference currency such as Euros or US Dollars but wish to pay in an alternative currency, the price will be converted using the Google Inc. mid market spot rate at the time of generating your invoice. You can check this conversion rate yourself.

For example, the cost of your day trip is US$170 but you wish to pay in Canadian Dollars

The Google Inc. mid market rate is live and may go up or down by a small margin between us generating an invoice and your checking the conversion.
