Ciudad Perdida Packing List
This list applies to our Cuidad Perdida tours from Santa Marta and Taganga.
Recommended kit list
- Comfortable worn-in walking shoes with good traction.
- Light and cool clothes for the daytime trekking.
- Warmer layers with long sleeves for the nights.
- Rucksack with a large bin liner for your clothes.
- Mosquito repellent. We recommend Nopikex (DEET) and Bacterion (herbal) both of which can be purchased in Colombian pharmacies.
- High calorie snacks such as energy bars, Kendal mint cake, chocolate and bananas.
- A water bottle, the water in the mountains streams is on the whole potable, your guide will advise accordingly.
- A lightweight waterproof.
- Torch.
- Toilet paper.
Additional advice
- Do not underestimate how cool the evenings can become, pack accordingly.
- Be prepared to get muddy.
- Try to get as much rest as possible during the nights. The treks are at times long and arduous.
- A yellow fever vaccination is recommended for this trip.
- Respect the environment, don’t leave something that was not already there, and don’t take plants, rocks etc.
- Respect the indigenous people, you are a guest on their land.
- Information for special dietary requirements and allergies.
- Take all litter to the next destination and dispose of it correctly.
